Vertcoin Twitter account hacked: “The consented mock Bitcoin were giveaway to the winner”

The Bitcoin (BTC) scam compromised today morning where Vertcoin official Twitter account has been hacked as Vertcoin is a peer-to-peer digital currency and software project.

For Vertcoin’s success celebration the Virtcoin Twitter posted on their account and announced that the contest winner will be given crypto currency as a prize; they promised to transfer 10 BTC to the winner and the name will be announced on 3rd May. But fraudsters will be asked the users to send 0.005 BTC to an address and added a post:

Almost immediately after the scam-tweet was posted, James Lovejoy, Vertcoin’s Lead Developer, warned followers that the Vertcoin account were compromised, adding that all giveaways are fake.

These types of crypto-scam on Twitter are very common now a day, where a hacker takes off the account and offer boon to the people. Almost all people successfully got their boon amount as per the announcement of the post and comments. This particular scam famous so it is very easy hack as their account are lawful as people will keep faith and will trust them very easily.

Hackers have utilized the reputations in the boon scams and have tried multiple times to copy the famous crypto currency industry players.

Scammers has made fake twitter account of the CEO of Telegram, Pavel Durov recently in April so that there may promote fake giveaway. In January, fraudsters impersonated Charlie Lee is using the account name which is same as the real originator of Lit coin.
