Kelly recently became Georgia’s new Senator and is appointed as the latest member of the Senate Agricultural Committee which is a CFTC’s arm. The Senator approved of Bakkt from CFTC of trading via physically deliverable BTCs contracts.
Though sources say that she is worthy of the post, there is some angst regarding her thoughts and interests. Her husband, Mr. Jeffrey Sprecher, the founder, chairman and CEO of Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), has some other ideas and benefits which are contrary to her part.
The ICE is the US company which owns for financial markets and is regulated by the CFTC. Kelly, at the time when she was in Bakkt, mentioned about the crypto asset would have impending benefits shortly and had taken decisions accordingly, as per the requirements.
Bakkt has also grown as a warehouse, where the physically derived BTC tokens could be stored. In the Wall Street Journal, the focussed business journal of the US, she says:
Being the Senator of the Agricultural Committee, and thus as an overall CFTC maintaining committee, Kelly can influence the thoughts into the crypto industry. It is a known fact that your old deeds pay off. Similarly, Kelly’s decisions made on Bakkt, has left a mark on the world of cryptos.
So as of now, nothing can be said of the sustainability of the cryptocurrency world, like other famous personalities, such as Donald Trump, the president if the US has all-together a different opinion. So let us wait and see the next move which Kelly has to make, and stay tuned.
