Travala, the travel platform, is now accepting payments in the mode of XEM for booking and other services on its platform. Travala is not a stranger while using the crypto as payment options; it is getting broader with the usage of different digital coins available.
Travala’s leading service being booking of hotel rooms has now reached more comfortable with upgraded user interface and payment options using the XEM digital coin.
Both NEM foundation and Travala were briefing the integration of XEM as a payment option on its platform; this was made public on a blog post by the Travala community.
Now XEM is one of the 20 coins on Travala’s platform to be integrated as the payment option. The top coins on the Travala platform for payment choice include Ether, Tron, Bitcoin, Tether, and Monero.
The option of payments using cryptos has previously boosted the revenue of the Travala platform over by 33.5%. Prior it was accepting USD as a payment option. After a while in mid-2019, I collaborated with Bookings.com, which then integrated the option of crypto on its platform.
It gained a momentum of profits when it made its users pay for more than 90,000 bookings only in digital coins. After this new initiative, Travala reported it saw a massive gain in profits of 33.25% from month to month in a year.
More than 9% of bookings were said to paid using Travala’s digital currency named AVA. Bitcoin used as the majority option with a 28% transaction occurring under it. 8% was shared by Bitcoin cash, while 37% booked using the regular credit cards and PayPal.
The use of digital currencies not just restricted to bookings of hotels or rooms, the technology of blockchain now integrated into providing e-visas and visas on arrival in Thailand.
The main plan of using blockchain is to increase the speed and efficiency of delivering visas to tourists. Even the airline companies based out in the United Kingdom are accepting digital coins as payment mediums to book tickets.
