Heath Tarbert, the Chairman of Commodity Futures Trading Commission, made a public announcement that Ethereum Futures will soon realize across trading platforms. ETH futures told to be the next game-changer as a derivative of Ethereum crypto, said Tarbert.
The transition of Ethereum to Ethereum 2.0 with PoS consensus in November the previous year, the mechanism and performance of the new ETH2.0 still observed and how it might impact the future market if the Futures contracts are released said the chairman of CFTC Heath Tarbert.
The previous year in October, chairman of CFTC has considered the futures trading option of Ethereum and gave a report that it might come into action in the year 2020, the recent announcement by CFTC might add that ETH Futures trading might soon realize.
Ethereum considered a commodity option compared to its competition Bitcoin, however, due to the change in the version and upgradation, Ethereum 2.0 in the PoS network cannot be defined as a commodity yet, and the investigation for to determine whether ETH 2.0 falls under this category is under judgment.
Some are making decisions that crypto using PoS consensus should be considered as assets rather than commodities and are urging legal confirmation on this matter. The specific schedule is, however, not released yet but expected to do in the half time of this year.
