Pop culture icon, William Shatner, most well known for his portrayal of Captain James T. Kirk from TV series, Star Trek, has announced on Twitter that he is planning on attending the 6th meet of the Satoshi Roundtable discussions.

The event is scheduled to take place from February 7-10 in North America. The Satoshi Roundtable is a private discussion meet where industry leaders, CEOs, developers, academics and financial professionals, and investors come together to talk about the blockchain world and cryptocurrencies.
Shatner found his introduction into the cryptocurrency world during the 2017 boom of cryptocurrencies. When ICOs were running haywire, and $5.6 billion were raised on custom cryptocurrencies that were all surging in value.
Shatner was then approached by many cryptocurrency developers to act as a public face for their coin. An offer from which he backed out when he realized the regulatory implications of backing a cryptocurrency at the time.
Shatner eventually became hooked onto the world of blockchain technology and the potential it held and associated himself with a Canadian company, Solar Alliance, that would use solar energy to run computers that ran nodes on the Bitcoin blockchain to validate transactions aka Bitcoin mining.
I went on to found a start-up in 2019, Third Millenium, that was focused on helping the public understand the benefits of using the Mattereum protocol, an Ethereum-based detailed data logging service.
The Satoshi Roundtable is an event that highly prioritizes privacy and networking, and its main goal is to bring together a selected set of industry professionals to come and spend time discussing developments in the sector and other innovations that they are working on.
