  • IoTeX’s Pebble Tracker delivers on both counts, supported by the in-built security features and reliability of both the nRF9160 SiP and cellular wireless technology too.

IoTeX’s Tracker, named Pebble, uses Nordic’s nRF9160 SiP long-range wireless solution for the tracking of global assets. The Nordic Semiconductor had announced today that IoTeX, the Silicon Valley-based technology company that brings together blockchain and other trusted hardware to be able to build a privacy-oriented internet of things ecosystem.

The company has chosen the Nordic’s nRF9160 low power system in package (SiP), and it is integrated with the LTE-M / NB IoT modem and GPS to be able to provide the trusted location and environment. It also provides trusted motion tracking data for all the assets globally and the industrial supply chain apps.

The product has met the demand of applications that require strong data security, integrity protection and also multiparty support across the supply chain as a whole.

The products that already exist in the market lack critical security features and this problem leaves them easily vulnerable to be hacked, and the data is also a target for data corruption.

Pebble Tracker comes in two versions. The first version of the Pebble Tracker comes equipped with tech for blockchain and IoT developers. Whereas the other version comes equipped with tech for a commercial application that is designed for the asset tracking and industrial supply chain market.

Raullen Chai, IoTeX Co-founder, in his statement, said that they chose the cellular IoT over the other low powered wireless area networks simply because it supports long-range communication.

And it is derived from global cellular standards that ensure communication reliability and longer operation lifetime of the device, and takes advantage of existing cellular infrastructure, thereby allowing IoT solutions to enter the market very quickly.

Geir Langeland, Nordic Semiconductor’s Director of Sales & Marketing, said that for IoT to be able to fulfill it’s potential, the adopters will have to have an absolute trust that the technology they are using is both secure and reliable.

IoTeX’s Pebble Tracker delivers on both counts, supported by the in-built security features and reliability of both the nRF9160 SiP and cellular wireless technology too.
