An infrastructure based on blockchain and cryptographic technology PlatON has officially accomplished the design of the secure multi-party computing (MPC) algorithm. It has also executed the first stage code in the Ethereum 2.0 Proof of Custody (PoC) program and open sourced it on GitHub.

Ethereum PoC’s design goal

Ethereum 2.0 offers a PoC solution to solve the data availability problem which appears in the collective operation of Ethereum 2.0 design scheme. While submitting the block, the PoC solution needs a verifier node to attach a “proof of data possession”.

The PoC’s entire design consists of compatibility with MPC to inhibit the sole point of failure and decrease the validators’ commission cost. Based on this design goal, Ethereum appealed PlatON to join PoC’s MPC design and code execution in the form of Ethereum Foundation funding.

PlatON completed its first stage of the code implementation

Right now, PlatON has done with the first stage of the code implementation and meanwhile performed a test as GitHub open source. While in the testing process of 20 nodes that consisted of 4CPU with 8GB data along with a speed of 100Mbps were distributed in 5 different countries and five different cities.

The cities are namely, Frankfurt, Mumbai, Sydney, Singapore, and Tokyo. The time taken to generate PoC online is about 3 seconds that absolutely meet the needs of making blocks within 12 seconds.

Hereafter, PlatON will continue to enhance with the means of algorithms and engineering to meet the requirements of 100 nodes for MPC calculations.
