According to the Forbes’ newly-released World’s billionaire list that highlighted the richest in the year 2020, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos occupied the top spot for the third time in a row with a $113 billion net worth. He is reported to have made it to the top despite having given away $36 billion worth of his Amazon stock to his ex-wife MacKenzie Bezos. Bezos followed by Microsoft founder Bill Gates, fashion magnate Bernard Arnault, and American investor Warren Buffett.

To note how the Forbes lists the World’s Billionaires, Forbes outlines that the list is a  snapshot of wealth using stock prices and exchange rates. It also adds that they list individuals rather than multigenerational families who reach the estimated net worth of $1 billion per person that is needed to cut.

Four Cryptocurrency Billionaires in Forbes 2020 List

The four entrepreneurs of the cryptocurrency industry who were featured in the list included:

  • Bitmain co-founders Micree Zhan and Jihan Wu, the estimation of their wealth are around $3.3 billion and $1.8 billion, respectively.
  • Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen, his personal wealth is estimated to be $2.6 billion.
  • Coinbase chief executive Brian Armstrong’s personal wealth is estimated to be $1 billion.

ConsenSys founder Joseph Lubin and Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao who were both featured on the Forbes’ richest people in the cryptocurrency list published in 2018, however, did not make it to the list this year.

Lubin reported having a crypto-centric net worth of $1-5 billion and Zhao who held that of $1.1-2 billion, according to Forbes’ previous estimates are said to have been absent from the billionaire list this year.

It is worth acknowledging that variations in the list keep happening. Forbes mentions that people featured can either become richer or poorer within days of publication. The list doesn’t remain consistent for a longer time.
