Ripple’s engineering team has exposed today that it had innovated a static site generator known as Dactyl. For the completion and building of technical content, the Ripple team is utilizing this indigenous tool Dactyl. This reveals the firm’s interest in the “docs as code” approach.
Dactyl is similar to Hugo and Jekyll
As per the engineering team, Dactyl is a static site generator that is very much similar to Hugo, Jekyll, and some others and is not build to compete with other doc ideas.
The engineering team opined on this innovation by saying, the tool was not created in a crowded field. Still, it raised with our needs, and the team has experienced several advantages of having this tool that is developed in-house.

Furthermore, the tool was used in formatting xrpl.org, which contains automatic tables of contents. As the documentation of Ripple and XRP Ledger increases, this innovation will keep developing.
Dactyl suggests replacing words and phrases in much easy language with the support of PlainLanguage.gov. It also links checking, PDF export, style checking, single-sourcing, and many more. It is one of the significant efforts made by Ripple Labs Inc.
