The Grammy-nominated singer, producer, and entrepreneur Akon’s cryptocurrency company Akoin has made a deal to support free digital payment transactions at Mwale medical and technology city (MMTC) in the Western Province of Kenya.

In Akoin’s official Twitter account, this announcement was roared saying Akoin announced a partnership with Mwale Medical and Technology City (MMTC) in Western Kenya.

The post further stated that Akoin will process all the transactions within the city. The vision of this partnership expects a minimum of 1 million transactions in the first year and 100 million annually within 5 years.
Enhancing the dreams of several entrepreneurs
Akoin is a cryptocurrency founded by singer Akon that offers users to buy sell or hold cryptocurrency from their smartphones. This cryptocurrency enhances the dreams of several tycoons that involve the rising economies of Africa and beyond.
MMTC is a community-owned metropolis with its medical and technology complex situated in the Kakamega County, of the Republic of Kenya. While signing the deal, Akon stated that associating with MMTC will give Akoin a prominent position in the East and Central Africa.
This market of over 400 million people depends on mobile digital transactions for their financial services.
MMTC posted over its Facebook page that the deal will support free payment transactions without fees at the MMTC. Unlike other mobile/digital payments in Kenya, Akoin will not take fees from the customers or employees of MMTC.

The venture will also benefit 150,000 low-income households in Kakamega County by offering the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) program that provides full donor commitments for 2020/2021.
