Ethereum Foundation has Granted Over $21 Million to Ethereum Based Projects

Many projects associated with the Ethereum platform are reportedly receiving financial grants now and then. Also, these projects, with an estimation of 150 in number, have acquired an aggregate sum of $25 million in total.

Ethereum Foundation Emerges as Top Funder

The Ethereum Foundation is amongst the biggest grant providers in the industry, based on a study. As it accounts for $21 million of the total amount. From the statistics chart, it can be understood that Ethereum Community Fund, Aragon Foundation, ConsenSys, and Protocol Labs are followed after the foundation.

Additionally, Ethereum Foundation leads the list not only in terms of the value of grants but in the number of grants too. For the record the foundation has given out a total of 94 grants to date.

Parity Technologies, Starkware, Prysmatic Labs, L4 Research, and Status have reportedly received the largest amount in terms of grants. The most funded category is Ethereum scaling initiatives, including  ETH 2.0 or ETH 1.x.

ETH 2.0 About to Debut

The platform uses Ethereum 2.0 in order to enhance the increased productivity and efficiency of the platform. These updates include applications to address current scaling issues, and issues with mining. In addition to security which in turn includes proof-of-stake solutions (Beacon Chain, Casper FFG), Sharding, eWASM, Plasma, Raiden, and more.

According to the creator of the platform (Ethereum), Vitalik Buterin, Serenity is the new name for Eth 2.0. Also, the proposed updates to the platform are more or less related to semantics. As we are discussing upgrades that address Ethereum’s sticking points. Thereby resolving the same to take it to the next level. ETH 2.0 will reportedly be launched in July this year. It is a much-expected event that can shift the crypto-economy to the next level.

As mentioned above, most of the proposed project funding includes initiatives like ETH 2.0. This is a clear stance stressing the importance of the upgrade and its potential. Hence, molding the crypto-market to unexplored dimensions.
