Today, the Antminer officially announced that it has stopped offering maintenance services for S9 series models from today. This announcement released amid the ongoing Bitmain internal struggle.

The S9 series is the most efficient miner in the market

The ant mining machine S9 series is also known as the machine king. It is noted as the most efficient miner available on the market. It dumps less amount of energy as compared to other miners.

As per report, around 40,000 miners utilize ant mining machine globally. Out of that, 70% of miners use the S9 mining machine.

Last month, Bitmain Support announced that it is going to stop providing maintenance services to some of the ant mining models from May 10, 2020. The models include A3, B3, D3, DR3, DR5, G1, G2, L3, L3 ++, L5, R1, R3, R4, S1, S3, S5, S7,  S9, S9I, S9J, S11, T9 +, T11, V9, X3, Z9MINI, Z9.

Maintenance services for E3 will also stop

Also, it is going to stop providing maintenance services for E3 from June 10, 2020. This step is taken to assist the miners to meet the challenges of market changes or technological innovation.

Recently a report revealed that the Antminer S9s contribute roughly 23% of Bitcoin’s total network hash rate. However, it is just less than half to the contribution in 2018 that was 78% of the total network hash power.

The Antminer is noted as the most powerful miner in the market with a hash rate of 12.93TH/s. This means that around 0.5 Bitcoins can be generated every month.
