The co-founder of EthHub, Anthony Sassano called attention to the fact that Bitcoiners have removed ⚡ emoji from their Twitter name. Bitcoiners from quite a long time have used the lightning emoji as part of their Twitter handle. It is believed that a person displaying this emoji is of utmost familiarity with the Bitcoin Lightning network. Besides that, they have a strong belief in the idea of decentralization. However, most of the people having the lightning emoji in their twitter names signify they are Bitcoin maximalists. The Lightning Network is a payment protocol. It operates on top of blockchain-based crypto such as Bitcoin. This particular network offers several benefits including the enablement of fast transactions amongst the participating nodes. 

It is worth appreciating how Sassano brings to attention the little details that remain unknown otherwise. He also asserts in his tweet that nobody talks about things like these. His tweet however also invited a few responses from prominent figures. 

John Lilic, director for Business Technology Development, Strategy & Operations at Consensys, tweets that few understand the reason behind the same. His tweet followed after the co-founder of ChianSafe systems stated that Sassano’s tweet seems familiar.

Bitcoin Maximalist Pouliot claims he started the trend of lightning emoji in the Twitter handles

Francis Pouliot, CEO of BullBitcoin and also a Bitcoin maximalist himself stated his reason as to why Sassano’s tweet appears familiar. He reasons out saying that the lightning emoji has been taken over by XRP. Furthermore, he claims in this tweet that it was he who started the whole trend of the lightning emoji in the Twitter handles. He however also brings to notice that he has replaced the lightning emoji with a biohazard symbol. 

Right after this tweet of Francis, Sassano replied to both Lilic and Pouliot in a satirical manner. He asked them both if they gave up their emoji to XRP bots.
