Brock Pierce is an American VC and entrepreneur. For the presidential elections campaign, he has launched his own website.
When it comes to the cryptocurrency industry, Pierce often considered a very influential Bitcoin pioneer. Currently, Pierce is best known as Chairperson of the Bitcoin Foundation. Also, as the co-founder of EOS Alliance. He has funded various blockchain companies as well as prominent among them is Block.One (EOS Parent Company), Blockchain Capital, and Tether. His business ventures with all the companies he has found have raised an amount of over $5 billion in total.
Kanye West Made A Similar Announcement
Prior to Pierce’s announcement for the presidential run, Kanye West the American rapper made a similar announcement. This makes Pierce the second biggest influencer in the crypto industry to run for the US Presidential elections. Previously, John McAfee the founder of the McAfee associates had also launched a campaign. However, he couldn’t get past the Libertarian Party’s 2020 primaries. Later, Joanne Marie Jorgensen, or mostly referred to as Jo Jorgensen, a libertarian political activist won the nomination.
Pierce’s Stance Over Socio-Political Issues Unclear
However, Pierce’s website lacks detail and is full of credentials. It is still unclear whether he is looking for a similar nomination from a political party or will be running independently. Moreover, there’s no clarification of Pierce’s point of view on any social issue or American political issue. This may prove to be a serious disadvantage in case Pierce is serious about the elections. As in these unprecedented times of pandemic, protests, the economic crisis it is important for people to know about a politician’s stance on these issues.
Pierce Could Be A Potential Crypto Candidate
Recently claimed that Donald Trump has ordered the Treasury Secretary to go after Bitcoin. It is contradicting his previous statements where he declared that he wasn’t a big fan of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency a year ago. As of now, Pierce hasn’t been yet listed as a candidate for the 2020 elections as per the Federal Election Committee website. This may be because of his sudden and last-minute announcement. However, it is being said that if Brock Pierce runs for the elections could be a potential crypto candidate in the elections.
