Phase 0 Supposed To Launch On 30th June

Ethereum 2.0 or most commonly known as the ‘Serenity’ upgrade, has made all the Blockchain enthusiasts excited. Phase 0 expected to launch on 30th June 2020. Phase 1 expected to launch in early 2021, and finally, Phase 2 set to launch in late 2021. However, phase 0 hasn’t officially launched, but it will implement the Proof of Stake consensus mechanism for the first time in the Ethereum platform. However, with the launch of phase 0, Ethereum will simultaneously continue to operate with phase 0 and the existing Ethereum platform.

Testnets Take Atleast Two Months To Operate Flawlessly

However, the Ethereum 2.0 may not be released in July, as said by its core developers because its testnet Topaz and Schlesi launched in May, and it requires at least two months to run flawlessly. So it’s pretty unlikely that with the test networks launching in May the phase 0 will be ready by July. However, CEO Buterin has assured the people that Serenity is right on track and would launch soon.
