Three days ago, the youtube channel Altcoin Daily was banned by YouTube for encouraging illegal activities. The brothers, Aaron and Austin, handle the channel. They decided to take this matter to their Twitter account, which had 27.9k followers, and they definitely could use the community’s support to recover their channel. They pleaded the community to contact YouTube and tweet using the hashtag, #FreeAltcoinDaily. In the tweet, they claimed that they were a news/opinion channel and had not promoted any illegal content as accused by YouTube.

The News Channel Accused Of Encouraging Illegal Activities

A short while ago, Altcoin Daily announced their return over a tweet and thanked the entire crypto community for their massive support. During these two days, the channel was sequestered entirely to the users.

On 31st of July, Altcoin Daily’s channel was taken down by YouTube because, as per the accusation, the channel was violating community policies by encouraging illegal activities. Currently, the news channel has around 215,000 subscribers.

YouTube Has An Aggressive Past With Channels Related To Cryptocurrency

However, this isn’t the first time that YouTube shut down a cryptocurrency news channel. YouTube has aggressively shut down many videos and channels related to cryptocurrency.  There are many similar instances in the past, where channels were accused of spreading illegal content when they weren’t. Even the renowned cryptocurrency news agency, CoinTelegraph recently became a victim of this strange behavior from YouTube when it’s recent Livestream on the Twitter hack was pulled down.

Some Crypto Channels Were Completely Shutdown

Some channels, including Crypto Beadles, were completely shut down where YouTube said that it was due an error during the review process. IN June, YouTube had taken down the official channel of Bitcoin.com yet again for violating YouTube’s terms of service. However, after a similar appeal, the YouTube channel with 40k subscribers was restored within two days. Similarly, the owners of the BTC Sessions had also experienced a similar inconvenience where their channels were shut down for a day.
