Earlier this year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of the Republic of China had planned to launch a bunch of new information consumption demonstration projects. According to the notice issued by MIIT, it seeks to select projects with strong development prospects along with a special focus on technologies like artificial intelligence and the blockchain.
Providing Greater Support for Innovation
MIIT has selected about 100 projects across the country and all these selected projects will receive greater policy support by the MIIT. Besides that, they will also be eligible for obtaining funds and encourage local authorities to allocate supporting funds and drive investments.
The list included 8 enterprise projects in Hubei which covers smart medical care, online office and Internet of Things platform, all of them serving in the field of digital economy.
Two blockchain projects are selected namely ‘Mingchuliangzhao Blockchain IoT Platform’ by Wuhan Feiwang Software Technology Co., Ltd and ‘Cloud Multi-connected Smart Supply Chain Integrated Service Platform’ by Yangtze River New Silk Road International Investment Development Co. Ltd.
Changjiang New Silk Road, which is a subordinate of Wuhan Port Development Group is actively working on new business and digital economy models with support from the cloud multi-connection platform and logistics industry. For these efforts, the company has become the first state-owned enterprise for the smart supply chain integrated platform and is included in the list of big data enterprises in Wuhan.

The innovation for this platform is based on their thought of combining blockchain with Internet of Things. Blockchain will create a multi-party trust collaboration, while the Internet of Things will look into building real-time monitoring and intelligent operation.
The company carried out testing of blockchain and the internet of things at the same time. Junfei stated that the company has completed the blockchain development strategy for the next 5 years. He added that they will continue to cultivate and develop products in emerging technology fields like Blockchain and the Internet of Things and make greater contributions to the country.
