IOST’s mainnet Olympus v3.3.6 is officially released now with enhanced security and code factoring updates. The IOST new mainnet update Olympus v3.4.0 is expected to release soon. Internet of Services Token or IOST is an independent blockchain network that has its nodes, wallets and even consensus protocol. The blockchain network implements Proof of Believability (POB) and Efficient Distributed Sharding (EDS) and claims to be one of the fastest networks. IOST focuses on providing ultra fast services. Jimmy Zhong along with Terrence Wang, Justin Li, Ray Xiao, Sa Wang, and Kevin Tan established the IOST platform. Back in 2018, the IOST platform raised about $31 million.
Recent Upgrade Enhanced Security and Code Refactoring
As per its official medium post, IOST has said that a mainnet’s performance is determined by the platform’s architecture as a whole. Over a year since the mainnet launch, the IOST development team has approached all the related issues in an innovative manner. However, the recent mainnate upgrade is mainly associated with security and code refactoring of the platform.
New Upgrade Olympus v3.4.0 to Launch Soon
IOST’s development team has fixed the bug which caused the virtual pools to exhaust rapidly and disabled the nodes to execute the transactions or to synchronise. Regarding the code refactoring, the developers have included various golangci-lint options and added 19 sub-linters. In the coming Olympus v3.4.0, an additional Merkel hash would be included in the block header that will allow the light nodes to verify the transactions and enhance cross-chain implementation. Moreover, the golang version of the platform would be upgraded. Main dependent versions like libp2p and grpc would also be upgraded.
IOST to Expand User Base and DeFi Usage
IOST hosts a huge number of dApps and has created a large user base since its launch. The main aim of the platform is to increase the DeFi usage and create a larger user base. The platform continues to collaborate with exchanges and cryptocurrency organizations and is on its way to the world’s first scalable AND decentralized blockchain project.
