Vechain, the world’s leading enterprise-friendly blockchain platform has announced that it will be joining forces with the China Animal Health and Food Safety Alliance (CAFA). Post the announcement, CAFA revealed it will cater to 130 members and VeChain will be providing blockchain integrated technical and infrastructural support to CAFA and associated firms.
What is CAFA
CAFA, which is under the Chinese National Agricultural Science Technology Innovation Alliance initiated by the Ministry of Agriculture of the People’s Republic of China is aimed to build an organisation which has strong industry connects within the food sector.
What will be the Vechain Role?
As a council member on CAFA, VeChain will be strategizing to develop a traceability system called “from-farm-to-table” for the cross country track. The use of VeChain’s ToolChain will let council members lodge records of key processes and activities of the food network over the blockchain. This will make the complete process secure, impenetrable and more trustworthy for consumers and enterprises. This means traceability of a product will start from as early as when it was being cultivated and continue further passing the phases of processing, packaging, logistics and even further to enterprises and finally in retail.
CAFA who have always worked for giving consumers a safe, healthy and quality food originated from the animal kingdom. VeChain’s ToolChain will be a big step towards it. This technology is already being implemented in the enterprise world. VeChain is a statement said with their traceability platform will allow CAFA and its alliances to use the VeChainThor blockchain that will be accessible to the public without approaching VeChain individually.
