Block.one’s recent tweet revealed that the Google Cloud Platform, the largest suite for cloud computing services, announced its collaboration with the EOS blockchain. Eos.io is a software protocol that mainly aims at resolving the scalability issues of the cryptocurrency and diminishes the fees that are charged during the transactions. Eosio evolved from a company known as block.one and is mainly an open-source project on GitHub. Google’s cloud computing suite is soon set to become an EOS network block producer following the partnership.

Google Cloud Would be Able to Vote Alongside Other SBPs

Being an EOS block producer (BP) essentially means that Google Cloud would be authorised to vote or bid on EOS governance along with the other standby block producers (SBP). Eos Blockchain has always worked hard to achieve optimal scalability or in other words, improve per-second transaction rates. The best part about EOS is that it supports both public and private blockchains which have become a need because both the types are gaining popularity in the market.

With the Collaboration, Eos Network Would Gain Popularity in the World of Public Blockchains

Block.one implying the collaboration with Google Cloud says that it is a very big milestone for EOSIO network. Moreover, it means a lot to the Blockchain world as the technology continues to spread its use cases in various sectors of business, finance, governance and so on. The Google Cloud platform not only manages and develops various cloud computing services but also handles fibre-optic networks. The ‘Google’ tag itself brings a lot of relevance to the company and continues to prove its stance in the sector of public blockchains.

Google Cloud Must Meet the Voting Criteria First

However, firstly Google Cloud must be selected by the existing EOS token holders upon voting. And if the majority of votes are in favour and it becomes a block producer of EOS, it will have a say in all the matters of the network be it decentralisation, scalability and so on. In this context, Block.one says that they are pretty sure that Google Cloud will meet all the voting criteria of the community.
