With the rising crypto market, digital assets are getting more mainstream. Ukrainian government wants to educate its residents about blockchain and cryptocurrency. The government launched a web series that aims to teach the fundamentals and concept of cryptocurrencies.
A web series to teach blockchain and cryptocurrency
The new teaching series is a part of the government’s literacy program, which started two years back. On Wednesday, the Diia.Digital Education series premiered. The program is created with the collaboration of Binance, Hacken, and Crystal Blockchain. The Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Transformation released the course. Andriy Onistrat, the former banker and entrepreneur, is the host of the series featuring Ivan Paskar, Binance marketing manager, as a guest.
Ukraine’s step to improve literacy about blockchain
Few concepts of the digital currencies like supply audibility of Bitcoin, permissionless transaction ledgers, and how identification preconditions in the digital exchange can be reconciled with the idea of decentralization were all discussed in the first episode. However, the supply concept audibility of the famous crypto token was especially considered in the program, as Onistrat explained that the National Bank of Ukraine would decide the supply of its national currency. They also discussed complex ideas about Ethereum and smart contracts.
However, viewing all the episodes of the blockchain series will entitle us to get a certificate of completion. According to Valeria Lonan, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation, around 40 pedagogic films have been produced under the program.
Digital literacy among the Ukrainians
According to Lonan, the project aims to offer digital literacy within three years to the 6 million citizens of the country. Lonan also revealed that at the end of last year, the government analyzed the digital literacy rate of the country, which revealed that around 53% of the citizens have digital literacy below the baseline. So the government has developed the program.
Ukraine with the highest crypto adoption rate
According to the data from Chainalysis, it is revealed that back in September, Ukraine has the highest crypto adoption rate among other countries worldwide. However, following Ukraine, Russia sat on the second position and then Venezuela. However, it is observed that Venezuelan use digital currencies more, and its government-issued fiat currency is losing value to inflation.
