Nevada is not new to innovation as the politicians are progressive in the state and talk about the innovations in their addresses to the state. Taking this lead forward, the blockchain firm, Blockchains LLC wanted to build up a smart crypto city in Nevada and for that, the company has set up a project for the approval from the local government.
Will Nevada Become A Full Smart Crypto City?
Nevada might soon become a fully operated crypto city if everything goes as per plan by Blockchains LLC, a Blockchain firm. As per the reports by Associated Press, Blockchains LLC has 67,000 acres of land in Nevada and the firm wants to build the crypto city within its land located in Reno’s east.
If this proposal gets the green signal from the authorities, then the Crypto Smart city would definitely become a reality in the Nevada desert. The funding agency has requested the country of Nevada to shape neighbourhood authorities in Storey County. However, the utility isn’t handiest given through Blockchains LLC. The application is not only given by Blockchains LLC.

Jeffery Berns, CEO of Blockchains LLC, has high hopes for his project and also wants the local authorities to grant permission to other crypto companies to set up facilities in the region which will help the city to become crypto-friendly.
Berns also believes that if they get approval from the authorities then the firm will have its own laws as they will be given permission of building schools and even law enforcement. The crypto city’s economy will also be based on the cryptocurrency only. Hence, the residents of the city will be able to purchase and pay for the services in cryptocurrency.
But the company does not want to limit itself because they do not want to limit the project to only digitalise the economy. In fact, the smart city aims to file monetary statements, scientific records, and private information at the blockchain.
The city will be 12 miles far from Reno East. under the proposal given by the firm, there is also a provision of building up almost 15,000 homes by 2022. This will only happen if the company gets approval from the authorities. The project is quite for a long-term period and precisely within 75 years, the firm would like to build 33 million square feet of commercial and industrial space.
Berns is also concerned about the decision by the authorities and also commented on the idea that Nevada changes its legal framework to allow innovation zones in the state. He stated that the land bought by the company would like to develop a project without any interference from the authorities and that they would like to work under the government made by them and let them create a government that let the firm do those things.
The Governor of Nevada is also very progressive and has already shared his idea of innovative zones. Ben Kieckhefer is a blockchain-friendly Nevada Republican senator is a promoter of innovations but while reading the documents submitted by Blockchains LLC Project was not read in-depth. He said that he is not yet sure of his comfort with the project as this is a big idea and Nevada has been built on big ideas. So one should keep the ear and eyes open to the project.
It is to be noted that the innovation zones discussed by Bern are not a new concept in Nevada. This was not new to the political sphere. Steve Sisolak, the state Governor is also the promoter of innovation and has talked about innovation during his state of the state address this year on January 19, 2021.
