Dapper Labs total valuation of the company has reached $2.6 billion amidst rising demands and interest of the investors in NFTs.

The company is highly successful for running the Non Fungible Tokens, also known as NFTs, with platforms like crypto kitties and NBA Top Shot. They have raised $305million in a funding round organized by investment company Coatue.

Dieter Shirley, CTO, Dapper Labs, said that NFTs are unique digital items that can be given across different products anywhere they want. They are simple but the real game-changer.

Hence, the fresh capital that has hit the jackpot for Dapper Labs has pushed the company’s total valuation to a much larger audience from various NBA matches in the form of NFTs.

These NFTs have become the latest craze for crypto lovers over the past few months. This is the main reason Top Shot becomes number one or top of the trading volume charts. NBA Top shot was launched just six months back, and since then, there is no looking back. It has already made $500 million in sales as users created over 8,00,000 accounts, roughly 338,000 of which own at least one NFT.

Shirley further added that NFTs let people have their actual ownership in games and the digital world for the first time. The developers make easy products to access their NFTs and identities from various products easily. There is less lock-in on customers. On Flow Blockchain NFTs can rewire the internet for the better.

Celebrities inclination towards NFTs

The list of celebrities associated with the Dapper Labs is as impressive as the company’s skyrocketed valuation. The participants included NBA legend Michael Jordan, basketball player Kevin Durant Andre Iguodala, Kyle Lowry, Spencer Dinwiddie, Andre Drummond, Alex Caruso, Michael Carter-Williams, Josh Hart, Udonis Haslem, JaVale McGee, Khris Middleton, Domantas Sabonis, Klay Thompson, and Nikola Vucevic.

Durant further emphasized that the NBA Top Shot is best as the new technology has changed the media and sports fans’ landscape so soon. The company is doing everything possible to enrich the fans’ experience. It is exciting to follow the process for everything happening on flow blockchain and use the boardroom platform to connect with fans in a new way.

People from other sports were also a part of the flow blockchain. They are Nolan Arenado and Tim Beckham, representing major league baseball. Other investors from national football teams include Thomas Davis, Stefon Diggs, Dee Ford, Malcolm Jenkins, Rodney McLeod, Jordan Mathew, David McCourty, Jason McCourty, DK Metcalf, Tyrod Taylor, and Trent Williams.

Dapper Labs has got fundings from Richard Seymour’s 93 ventures, Sound Ventures (Ashton Kutcher and Guy Oseary), Dreamers VC (Will Smith and Keisuke Honda), and AG Ventures (Shawn Mendes and Andrew Gertler)

With such an investment and more investors, Dapper Labs plans to expand beyond basketball and bring more sports, video games, and other products to its flow blockchain.
