The support and clamour for cryptocurrencies have been increasing steadily; with heiress Paris Hilton being the latest to join the bandwagon. Excerpts from an interview between Hilton and CNBC show that she is a long-term investor in the popular crypto. She is also a patron of NFTs who has plans to launch one of her own shortly.

Hilton swept by laser eyes trend

Hilton is a woman of many talents. She cemented her position as a supporter of the crypto community by updating her profile pictures to laser eyes. The “laser-eyes” is a recently popular trend. Users post pictures of themselves with laser eyes till Bitcoin reaches the $100,000 mark. Other noteworthy inclusions of this trend include senator Cynthia Lummis, a vocal supporter of Bitcoins, and Kevin O’Leary, the Shark Tank star.

Following the update, several supporters took the opportunity to welcome Hilton to the steadily growing community. However, some netizens also remarked that she might not know much about cryptocurrencies‘ workings despite being a long-term hodler of Bitcoins. Another popular personality to welcome the heiress was MicroStrategy CEO Michael Saylor, whose firm is known to have stockpiled close to about 91,000 BTC tokens.

However, the information regarding the exact year of Hilton investing in BTC is still blurry. Famous TV star Max Keiser tweeted that she was enthusiastic about BTC investment from late 2018, while others surmise that it could be as early as 2015.

Actively pursuing NFTs

In the interview, Hilton stated that her inspiration to follow NFT trends came from when she launched her first NFT in March 2020, which incidentally also came first in the NFT Charity Awards. She also stated that she had two projects in collaboration with other artists lined up for release in the coming weeks. It seems the first one to be launched would be about art, and the other one would be about music which encompasses the theme of women’s empowerment.

Her recent remarks may help increase the popularity of cryptocurrencies among her fans.
