Investing in the unceasingly growing crypto industry, Chinese millionaire Justin Sun won the bid for the first-ever “Golden Whale Pass” at an NFT auction presented by NFT Glee in accordance with the Bitcoin 2021 conference. The esteemed auction concluded on June 3 at a winning bid of 12.6 BTC, which amounts to $453,458.88 at the time of writing.
The Golden Whale Pass, a.k.a the first edition “Forever Whale” NFT by groundbreaking artists Paul Milinski, Olivia Steele, Anchorball, Vincent Ubags, Tommy, and Ronin, promises “the ultimate whale pass experience – for life.” Listed below are some of the exclusive VIP benefits offered to a Whale Pass hodler:

Justin Sun, “the first forever whale”, is an avid art collector and NFT advocate who recently donated his entire art collection to the APENFT project, whose vision to be the NFT space’s ARK Funds compelled him deeply. The collection includes “Femme Nue Couchee Au Collier” by Picasso, “Three Self-Portraits” by Andy Warhol, “Ocean’s Front” by NFT artist Beeple, and digital artist Pak’s over $30 million worth collection of all works. Sun plans to donate also the “Forever Whale” NFT to the APENFT project.
Bitcoin Proponent Sun’s Big-Investments
Sun has been known to be an active investor in the crypto space, so the Golden Pass bid didn’t come as a surprise. Last year, the tech entrepreneur spent $4.5 million over dinner with Berkshire Hathaway Inc. chairman Warren Buffet. The Omaha private country club also had in attendance Litecoin’s Charlie Lee, eToro CEO Yoni Assia, and Huobi CFO Chris Lee. Earlier this year, he was in talks for his $70 million bid of Beeple’s iconic artwork, which wasn’t fulfilled and eventually sold for $69 million at the Christie’s auction.
In his statement, Justin said, “Bitcoin epitomizes everything that cryptocurrency innovation stands for” and will continue to lead the industry as it enters mass adoption. Sun is giddy to see such “large scale NFT use cases” like the Golden Whale Pass and is thrilled to “be a part of this legacy.”
