Bitcoin ATMs were suspended from services during the global COVID-19 pandemic time. However, now the count of these machines is soaring. Bitcoin Depot, the largest BTC ATM operator globally, has announced that it will continue to expand its machines. It is known that Circle K convenience stores are about to host thousands of such conversion machines in the United States and Canada. It is also found that about 700 Bitcoin ATMs are already installed at 30 convenience stores in the US.

Bitcoin ATMs operator partnered with Circle K

Amid the global COVID-19 pandemic, we have observed that several institutional investors and fund managers are adopting cryptocurrencies. Still, many globally are there who don’t have access to such services. Bitcoin Depot is one of the firms helping out unbanked to access such services.

The firm has partnered with Circle K convenience store to expand its supply. According to Alona Lubovnaya, the product manager of Bitcoin Depot, ATMs being located in the convenience store will provide an easy onramp for the unbanked and less affluent, who are just with some wealth manager.

3500 crypto machines operating across the United States

The Bitcoin ATMs operator claims that it has more than 3500 such machines in operation across the US. Whereas, in Canada, the firm is allowing consumers to purchase more than 30 different types of digital assets. Such assets include Bitcoins, Ethereum, Litecoin, etc.

Notably, Alimentation Couche-Tard, the Canadian branch of the ATM services provider, claimed that they have about 7,150 stores in the United States and roughly 2,111 in Canada.

Customer count of BTC ATM has surged

Last year, Bitcoin Depot had suspended its services to certain ATMs in red zones during the global pandemic. Since then, the firm has restored to all the locations despite rising COVID-19 cases and deaths in the nation. 

Moreover, the count of users of such crypto ATMs has also skyrocketed significantly. According to the data from the CoinATMRadar, about 24k machines in 75 countries are currently operating. Among these, the majority of such ATMs are based in the US, which is about 20k.

Following the scenario, Alona mentioned that its mission is to bring crypto to the masses. Indeed, the firm will continue to expand with significant partners.
