Winkyverse, the story began with a French startup, Mainbot, in 2017. Its founder and CEO, Boris Kesler, was at École Polytechnique, one of the best engineering schools in France. Boris was working on creating an educational robot named “Winky” to teach programming and robotics. His main goal was to focus on helping children, and their families prepare for the future.

Soon Mainbot realized that to accomplish its goal to prepare children and their families for the future, adoption of the latest technology is necessary. Hence, Boris designed the first Global Education Games Metaverse known as the “Winkyverse” with its own cryptocurrency named “The Winkies.” The game allows its players to learn about new technologies.

Winkyverse blends six technologies

The Winkyverse is a 3-D open-world that allows players, developers, and game editors to interact, play, and learn. It is one of the first educational platforms which manages to combine no less than six of the most promising technologies. These technologies include Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Programming, Gaming, Augmented Reality, and Blockchain. Ultimately, combining the aforementioned technologies, the platform creates a unique educational ecosystem.

According to Boris Kesler, “We cannot claim to prepare children for the future without introducing families to the blockchain, cryptocurrencies, NFTs and the concept of a metaverse which will soon be part of our daily lives.”

Metaverse includes two module

The Winkyverse itself includes two modules known as Winkyplay and Winkymaker. WinkyPlay brings hundreds of educational games together that are created by video games editors and content publishers. Furthermore, the platform allows users to create their own games in many different categories such as action, memory, logic, racing, and more.

On the other hand, the Winkymaker allows players to design their accessories for the robot. The intuitive 3D editing platform is accessible to all so that the robot can evolve according to the creators’ imagination. Later the creations could be used within the metaverse and can be 3D printed to be received at home. Moreover, these creations will be transformed into Non-Fungible Tokens that can be traded on OpenSea, the NFT marketplace.

The Winkybots NFTs collection

The Winkybots are a collection of unique 12,111 Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) based on the Ethereum blockchain. The first 12k Winkybots are generated programmatically using computers, and the remaining of them are created in partnership with artists from different nations.

On the Winkyverse, players can use these crypto-collectibles as avatars within different virtual worlds. The owners of these NFTs will also have the right to create licensed products, and they will receive royalties if one or more of their collectibles are used in commercial projects like video games, comics, cartoons, and more. Notably, a mini-series including these NFTs are currently being prepared for television.

Why did Mainbot issue “The Winkies” crypto?

Mainbot has issued The Winkies cryptocurrency along with its incredible Winkyverse. The Winkies are ERC-20 based tokens created on the Ethereum blockchain. According to the project’s whitepaper, these tokens help pay the one-time fee for lifetime access to the metaverse. Users can also use the tokens for in-game purchases and customize their NFT avatars. There are some premium games available on the metaverse that can be accessed using The Winkies.

Besides, using The Winkies, anyone can acquire WinkyPlay Premium Subscription to get early access to the new games. Simultaneously, if someone purchases the Winky Robot using the crypto asset, they will be eligible to get a 50% discount compared to the retail price in fiat currency. Moreover, enthusiasts can also reward the game developers and artists designing accessories on WinkyMaker.

Simultaneously, The Winkies holders can also participate in The Winkyverse governance process. All token holders are eligible to vote and make decisions for the metaverse through a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO).

Relying on the potential blockchain technology, Winkyverse has already won over more prominent names in the digital ecosystem. Such names include Sébastien Borget, co-founder of The Sandbox, Nicolas Gilot, co-founder of Ultra, Mickael Canu, co-founder of Ternoa, and Kyle Chassé, CEO of Paid network and Master Ventures. The Winkyverse will ultimately help the world educate about crypto, blockchain, and NFTs, which will help the world evolve with such a tremendous ecosystem.
