  • The Bored Apes and CryptoPunks have performed exceptionally well even after all the NFTs drops and hype. The Purchase of a Punk by Jordan Belfort, aka The Wolf of the street, also instilled that CryptoPunks are high in demand.
  • On the other end, the Bored Ape Yacht Club, the collection of 10000 digital collectibles on the Ethereum Blockchain, has mounted itself as the go-to social club for the NFT elite.
  • On Wednesday, 22nd October, the floor price for a Bored Ape was at 53.9 Ether, while the floor price for a CryptoPunk was frozen at 52.69 ether. This was witnessed for the first time that the newer NFT collection has outperformed the foundational CryptoPunks.

Despite all the hype regarding the NFTs drops, the ones who have consistently performed well so far are Bored Apes and CryptoPunks. Launched in 2017, CryptoPunks is one of the original NFT collections. The Bored Ape Yacht Club is a collection of 10000 unique digital collectibles living on the Ethereum Blockchain.

“The Wolf of Wall Street,” aka Jordan Belfort, obtained a Punk sometime in October. This acquisition didn’t reach the top ten sales of the week. However, this does point towards the fact that there is high demand for CryptoPunks, which are 10,000 uniquely generated characters. On the other hand, for the NFT elite, the Bored Ape Yacht Club has established itself as the go-to social club.

The constantly-expanding footprint and grassroots roots footprint make it an attractive investment for anyone with the financial means.

All of this represents that a dispute has been raging silently in the upper reach of blockchain.

As Punks competed against Apes for the absolute dominance of crypto, fans watched fascinatingly as the inevitable change of the guard took place. During the whole of December, “a moment of change” was also predicted by pundits when the floor price of the Bored Ape Yacht Club would surpass the CryptoPunks, the long-time champions, which did happen on 22nd December.

The lowest price for a Bored Ape was $215,350 or 53.9 ether compared to $210,515 or 52.69 ether for a CryptoPunk; it was for the first time that the newer NFT collection surpassed the foundational CryptoPunks.

According to OpenSpace, the largest NFT marketplace, the Bored Apes have become the most valuable asset in town.

Owners were quite ecstatic about it. But, has the battle come to an end or not?

However, by Thursday, CryptoPunks once again appeared to score the rising price. Even after the BAYC’s dominance, the CryptoPunks were sold more than the Bored Apes by a factor of two, with floor prices within a fraction of each other.

Since no CryptoPunks are available for buying, there is also no floor price for CryptoPunks, as of this writing. Contrary to the Bored Apes, which are in abundance, the CryptoPunks have reached Valhalla and represent an asset of unfathomable worth.

The Bored Ape Yacht Clubs are not even the costliest apes in town if we look at the genesis Cyberkongz suggesting that the fight may not be over yet.
