- They are not doing any April Fools stealth mints, airdrops, etc. Other discords are also being attacked presently, highlighted the team.
- The hacker stole a MAYC NFT which was later resold for an increased price.
Similar to the crypto industry, the Non-Fungible Token (NFT) space is not free from frauds and rug pulls too.
Bored Hack Resulting in Mutant Stealing
Though primarily the NFT hacks have taken place usually on NFT marketplaces, the prominent NFT project Bored Ape Yacht Club witnessed a similar hack on its Discord on April Fools Day. And this instance resulted in a panic situation within the community.
The hacker managed to snatch away a Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC) NFT, which is another NFT project from the creators of BAYC. During the time of the steal, the MAYC NFT was priced at 20 ETH which is equivalent to $69k.
The MAYC NFT after leaving the address is reportedly flipped for 23.64 ETH or $82k. Though the actual reason regarding the hack is not really known, the BAYC team warned the community by highlighting a precautionary message.
It said, Stay Safe, Do not mint anything from any discord currently. A webhook in their discord was briefly compromised. And that they caught it instantly but told the community to know, they are not doing any April Fools stealth mints, airdrops, etc. Other discords are also being attacked presently.
And this incident was not really a good sign for ApeCoin (APE) holders. As right from the launch, both the token and the network have witnessed a humdrum performance.
What normally happens is that whenever a significantly popular project rolls out its token, the enthusiasts go mad. In this case, the second-largest NFT collection rolled out its native token APE. But ironically, the same did not happen here. They did not buy a massive number of funky monkeys or something.
At the time of writing, the altcoin is trading at $12.67 with a market cap of $3,515,478,251. And lately, the price of APE has been consolidated within a range of $12 and $15.

It’s ironic to see BAYC being such a popular project with names like Eminem, Justin Bieber, Gwyneth Paltrow, etc associated with it. But ApeCoin (APE) adoption is not very great. And the price has not seen any new highs since the launch.
It is to look forward to if the APE could appeal to the investors in the near future and if it could gain the same hype as it did during the launch.
