Rappi To Accept Cryptocurrencies: The Delivery App Highlights Future Plans

A Colombian food and other household items delivery app named Rappi has recently directed towards its intentions to accept crypto payments in the future. 

This acceptance of payments for daily needs is an indication that Bitcoin and other altcoins were initially designed to serve as payment methods for goods and services. They were designed to eliminate or minimize the need for things like credit cards, checks, and fiat currencies, but this has been a slow journey given that there is heavy volatility related to these assets.

The Service Would Commence Next Year

Now moving towards the asset class, the executives of the delivery app have announced that starting from the first quarter of 2023, customers can utilize assets like bitcoin, Ethereum, and other cryptocurrencies to pay for the firm’s delivery services. 

They further highlight that if it works, they will push Rappi’s presence in the finance world to the point that the company can become its own bank, which is apparently being called Rappi Pay.

According to Gabriel Migowski, the Colombian president, they want to be a full bank. They will be an ideal bank for all those within the Rappi ecosystem. Not just individuals who are consumers, but also legal entities like businesses and Rappi delivery workers.  They are majorly focused on creating the best credit card experience so afterward, we can offer (services) to small and medium-sized businesses which operate within Rappi.

Rappi is currently enabled to customers in Brazil, Chile, Peru, Colombia, and Mexico. The firm has about 750,000 users and has provided individuals with over 120,000 credit cards they can utilize to gain access to the services of the company.
