The Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT ecosystem has announced the launch of Otherside.

Otherside is a metaverse game world that brings together different NFT projects such as the Apes, Meebits, CryptoPunks, and Cool Cats. Yuga Labs, the creators of Bored Ape, are bringing this experience in collaboration with Animoca Brands, an NFT game publisher.

Yuge Labs will be launching “Otherdeed” NFT for the game on Saturday. These will be pretty much similar to NFTs for The Sandbox and Decentraland and expected to act as a deed to a kind of virtual land in the metaverse game. Both the public and the existing Bored Ape and Mutant Ape owners will be able to access Otherdeeds.

Otherdeeds: What Are These?

Otherdeeds are nothing but NFTs for the metaverse game Otherside, the teaser of which was released some weeks back. In the trailer, Bored Apes and Mutant Apes could be seen sharing the screen with Meebits and CryptoPunks, as well as other significant NFT collections such as World of Women, Nouns, CrypToadz, and Cool Cats.

It is also important to note that there is no official announcement about Otherdeed being some kind of deed in the game world. Although a leaked pitch deck was confirmed as real (but outdated) by the Yuga Labs co-founder, Garga mentions in detail the plans of its metaverse and virtual land.

How To Buy One?

On April 30, Saturday, Yuga Labs will hold the mint for Otherdeeds with about 55,000 NFTs available for purchase. The mints can be bought only with ApeCoin (APE), while they can be sold for 305 APE apiece (approx. $6,100 at the time of writing). The sale will begin on the official site of Otherside at 9 pm ET.

But there’s a catch here. As of now, not everyone can purchase an Otherdeed. Both the partners, Yuga and Animoca, created a website in March that would require users to register an Ethereum wallet and fill out know-your-customer (KYC) forms. The individuals would be able to buy one of the 55,000 NFT deeds if they completed the process successfully.

Yuga will let people buy up to two Otherdeeds in a single transaction in the first wave but will expand the limit throughout the sale depending on the level of Ethereum gas fees, as detailed in this post from Thursday.

In addition, for purchasing Otherdeeds, it would be a must for the individuals who completed the process to have both APE and ETH (for gas fees) in the approved wallet.

Can Bored Ape Owners Get Hold Of Otherdeed?

Owners of a Bored Ape or Mutant Ape would be able to get hold of Otherdeed within 21 days of the start of Saturday’s sale. Moreover, those NFT owners do not need to have a confirmed wallet that completed KYC checks that included requiring a user’s full name and address.
