The “simplest and finest use case” for Dogecoin ($DOGE), according to Billy Markus, co-creator of the popular meme-inspired cryptocurrency, is tipping, which he defines as “sharing happiness across the internet.”

Markus tipped the “most frequent tipper in dogecoin history” using a Twitter-based bot that allows users to tip DOGE to each other in a tweet published with his over 1.4 million followers on the microblogging network Twitter.

What are the uses of Doge?

As reported last month, Markus said that adding utility to the meme-inspired cryptocurrency would entail utilizing it as a currency as much as possible, as well as using DOGE as a “tipping money.”

Defend this second use case, which Markus describes as the “purest use case that brings happiness.” A third option offered by the cryptocurrency’s co-creator was to build a Dogecoin / Ethereum bridge, which would allow it to be used in Web3 apps.

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, a notable DOGE enthusiast, responded to his proposals by saying that getting businesses to accept DOGE is “absolutely” needed, and that utilizing DOGE as a tipping currency is “great to have.” He claims that the third idea is unnecessary.

Acceptance of Doge

Musk has worked with engineers in the past to improve the cryptocurrency.

Twitter should take DOGE as payment, according to Musk.

He has lobbied for McDonald’s to accept payments in DOGE, and has intimated that SpaceX, which he also owns, may soon accept payments in the meme-inspired cryptocurrency.

Tesla, his electric car company, accepts DOGE payments for certain products like as its “cyberwhistle,” “Giga Texas” belt buckle,” and “cyberquad” four-wheeler for youngsters on its website.

Gucci, an Italian premium apparel business, joined Tesla in accepting DOGE payments earlier this week.

DOGE and SHIB are among the crypto assets that Gucci accepts.

By the end of May, the company plans to take cryptocurrency in several of its U.S. locations, with the goal of expanding the program to all of its directly-operated North American locations by the end of the summer.
