The Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) space often witnesses new projects emerging and gaining popularity. One such recent NFT project is Goblintown. It is said that NFTs can depict absolutely anything from the real world, and Goblintown Ethereum NFTs seem to be a perfect example of it.
Goblintown is not a real tangible place, though; it is a state of mind comprising groaning, moaning, memes, and an eternal obsession with urine and fecal matter. And these NFTs had a floor price of around $16,000 on Wednesday when it considerably surged from 3.9 ETH to 8.95 ETH.
According to OpenSea data, the highest cost of a Goblin NFT is 99 ETH. And ironically, folks are actually spending a massive amount of money on these urine-loving gobintown NFTs.
The popular blockchain metaverse game, The Sandbox, recently purchased a Gonlintown NFT on the OpenSea marketplace for 26 ETH, which equates to around $48,000.
Well, there can be people getting the thought as to why someone would want to hold such ugly NFTs when there are plenty of other projects to choose from. But there are 8 Billion people in the world with different choices and interests and a huge NFT frenzy.
The project has 4,600 unique holders currently. The official website highlights ‘no roadmap, no discord, no utility, which somewhat signifies that they are created for the memes.
The project has gained considerable hype from the community and also attracted the attention of other NFT entities. For instance, Justin Mezzell, the co-founder of Moonbirds NFTs, cited Goblintown to be a crazy journey. But further said that goblin town vibe is not for him.
The founders of this interesting but weird NFT project are yet to be revealed.
The OpenSea sales chart also signifies that the sales of the goblintown Ethereum NFTs have surged significantly in recent times.
