Ethereum co-creator Vitalik Buterin attended an interview with his father, Dima Buterin, where they shared their views about various issues.
Vitalik Buterin is quite a popular and known person worldwide because of his major part in creating the top smart contract blockchain network Ethereum. Vitalik learned about cryptocurrencies, especially bitcoin, from his father when he was in his teenage years. His father, Dmitry Buterin, is an engineer and entrepreneur, born and brought up in Russia and then moved with his family to Canada.
Recently both Vitalik Buterin and his father Dmitry, often called Dima in an interview session, talked about different issues. Along with the ongoing crypto crash and volatile situation, they also shared their thoughts about how Crypto could be used. Vitalik said he is not worried much about the ongoing crypto crash but doesn’t like people becoming speculative about Ethereum.
Vitalin said that Crypto had experienced ups and downs and will have such ups and downs again. He said that the down periods are challenging, but at the same time, this is also the period when those projects possess actual meaning, and utilities get nurtured and built. Further, the Ethereum co-founder said that money never was a motivator for him, nor was it his focus. He also said he does not like that people see Ethereum from speculative aspects and see how it can make money for them instead of looking at it more like a network.
The father-son duo has similar thoughts regarding the hopes of more applications on the network that would be other than just finance, along with prioritizing the improvement of the Ethereum network and its technology. They said that the actions of the Ethereum network are enough to back this fact.
Vitalik and Dima were also seen supporting the decentralized autonomous organization Ukraine DAO which was raising millions of dollars to support the war-affected country after the invasion of Ukraine by Russia.
Often Viatalik Buterin has been seen publishing his ideas on his website about the future of space and technology. For instance, he recently shared his opinion on soulbound tokens where an individual’s credentials record could be documented on-chain. Also, at several other times, he wrote about the highly anticipated Etehreum’s merge upgrade, how this shift from proof of work to proof of stakes will take place and how it will drastically decrease the impact of mining on the environment.
