BAYC and Rolling Stone have collaborated to launch two NFTs(Non-Fungible Tokens). Out of the two NFTs, one is a MAYC and the other is a BAYC.
As per the tweet, the NFT is set to release on June 22. Another good news for the people interested in these NFTs is that there is going to be a 4-hour sale for collectible art prints of each design in the live auction.
On top of that, aspiring collectors using Apecoin can also make payments for their purchase at the equivalent of $100.
It is also interesting to note that it is not the first time that Rolling Stone and BAYC are partnering on a project. The two parties also collaborated last November to launch two magazine covers.
Media Houses Embracing NFTs
Early this year in January, Rolling Stone collaborated on a roll out of an exclusive NFT for the super bowl. With the release, Rolling Stone marked its return to the Super Bowl and featured a collaboration with 12 other artists.
Rolling Stone is among the various print publications that are diving into the NFT space.
The New York Times made a whopping $560,000 by auctioning an NFT of its column in March 2021. Time Magazine auctioned four NFTs of its digital magazine covers around the same time and sold them for a total of $446,000.
In October 2021, The Economist made $419,000 through the sale of one of its magazine covers. Media Houses such as Fortune Magazine and Playboy, are other popular names that too are exploring the NFT space.
Impact Of Crypto Winter On BAYC
Crypto Market has suffered one of the worst phases in the recent weeks. Flagship currencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum experienced significant drops. The NFT collection too, suffered the wrath of this crypto storm.
According to a recent report, the collection suffered a major price drop. On June 13, It reached its bottom price of 72.503 ETH ($86,000).
Despite all the chaos, the collection remains at the top.
