  • Initiating with high Celebs association with NFTs, Bored Apes seems to hit a road bump now in the year.
  • Jimmy Falon and Paris Hilton, the perceived BAYC enthusiasts, have changed their Twitter Bored Apes Profile pictures.
  • It is to see what the NFT space would face as the movements of the crypto markets are pretty bearish.

Seems like the Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) frenzy is slowly fading out. One of the most attentive aspects of it was the association of prominent celebrities and names with NFTs. Starting only this January, the appearance of Paris Hilton on Jimmy Falon’s show while he also mentioned Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC).

She also highlighted on the show that they are all part of the same community, they are both Apes.

But what is happening now is quite a contrasting picture than what it was before. Now the enthusiasts are in a market situation that is bearish and full of downtrends, popularly;y referred to as Crypto Winter. The loss of confidence by the celebs in NFTs was clarified when both Fallon and Hilton changed their Twitter profile pictures from the Bored Apes. Ironically this popular NFT project united them.

But it cannot be firmly said that they have broken their ties with the NFT space as both maintain the suffix (dot)eth, and Hilton still mints her own NFTs.

Earlier in the year, Twitter first launched the feature which enables the NFT owners to make their digital artwork their profile picture, along with its in-house verification system. But now, months later, a lot of celebrities have disowned their Non-Fungible avatars, such as Reese Witherspoon, Serena Williams, Lil Durk, Meek Mill, Shonda Rhimes, and Travis Barker.

Apart from this, there is also this ongoing NFT NYC Convention near Times Square. And a viral Tweet from an NBC News Reporter signifies that the convention might have hired Snoop Dogg’s doppelganger Doop Snogg to attend the festivities and boost up the prestige of the convention.

And if that’s true, it raises a question of whether the NFTs space is actually how it is perceived. However, the year started with a downtrend for the Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) as the overall NFT sales volume plunged significantly in the first quarter.

But now that the celebrities are abandoning their NFTs is there a possibility their fans or the other NFT enthusiasts would do that too?
