The whale has added 2,554 Bitcoin in a sequence of transactions since June 14th, according to cryptocurrency tracking portal BitInfoCharts.
After a series of big transactions earlier this month, the largest non-exchange Bitcoin whale in the world currently has more than $2 billion in BTC.
The whale spent $36.62 million for 1,698 BTC between June 14 and June 18. The whale has since gathered 856 BTC, totaling $17.35 million.
Addresses holding between 10 and 10,000 Bitcoin increased
Currently, 130,227 BTC, or 0.68 percent of the current supply, are held by the wealthiest non-exchange Bitcoin whale.
After the wallets belonging to the cryptocurrency exchanges Bitfinex and Binance, it is the third-largest Bitcoin whale in the world.
The decline in the cryptocurrency market has led to a surge in Bitcoin whales, according to crypto analytics company Santiment.
Santiment claims that while the number of addresses holding between 10 and 10,000 Bitcoin increased earlier this month, the growth in the number of whales owning more than 10,000 Bitcoin began in February.
“More substantial Bitcoin addresses have begun to appear on the network, despite the constrained market.
Following the decline two weeks ago, addresses with 10 to 10,000 BTC have increased, while addresses with 10,000 BTC or more have grown since February.
Whale addresses are those having 10,000 or more bitcoins in their balance. Whales assist in keeping Bitcoin at $30,000. The biggest hodlers, known as whales, have their wallets filled with more than $1 million worth of cryptocurrencies.
Users that store huge quantities of cryptocurrency without selling them in the expectation of making future gains are known as hodlers.
