With a small group of artists, Meta has now done the same on Facebook.

According to a Meta spokeswoman, the business has begun a modest rollout that enables a restricted number of American producers to publish digital artifacts on Facebook.

These artists will be able to display NFTs on their profiles via a new tab thanks to this functionality, and the artwork will have a “digital collectibles” designation, exactly like Instagram.

A week after Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, said that the firm will shortly test NFT support on Facebook, the startup officially launched.

At the time, Zuckerberg stated that the trial would enable authors to cross-post on both Facebook and Instagram. The product manager at Meta Navdeep Singh revealed screenshots of the support for digital collectibles.

You may put NFTs on your timeline, and clicking on them will display information on that digital collectible, including information about the collection and its creator.

NFTs created on Polygon and Ethereum were supported by Instagram at launch, and support for Solana and Flow is planned.

Although Meta did not specify, it is probable that Facebook supports the same blockchains.

In addition, according to Zuckerberg, Meta will develop 3D NFTs for augmented reality that can be added to Instagram Stories using Spark AR, the company’s software AR platform.

The NFT test on Instagram was recently expanded by Meta to include more creators from across the world. The assistance was restricted to a small number of American creators.

There won’t be any charges for sharing or uploading a digital collectible, according to Meta. The business has also stated that it would not, for the time being, allow users to convert digital collection postings into advertisements.

According to Meta, it is aware that NFTs create significant environmental issues, and as part of its commitment to sustainability, it is working to lessen the potential emissions effect of digital collectibles by investing in renewable energy.
