State Of The Art Technology And Zuck Bucks Bringing Metaverse To Life
Metaverse is still to become a mainstream concept around the globe. But it has already started to lay its foundation for the future. Big guns in the tech industry are working on this concept, and some even have developed their own virtual worlds. Meta and Apple are the top entities believed to lead the race. Mark Zuckerberg changed the title of the firm from Facebook to Meta back in 2021.
Meta acquired Oculus back in 2014, and retitled itself. Apple is also reportedly developing their new VR headsets, which will allow users to enter the digital worlds. Technologies like AR, VR and MR are important, or should I say the key to enter the virtual world. Folks will be able to wear the gadget to foray into a brand new world.
If you have read Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson, released 1992, you are far more ahead of the people who are still getting to know the digital realm. The book was written 30 years ago, and predicted the so-called metaverse as we know it today. Ready Player One, another novel and film adaptation, represented how the virtual world should be.
This virtual realm, as we have mentioned above, allows the people to conduct real life activities there. From walking to shopping to earning, everything that is virtually possible in accordance with the physical world. Of course we cannot eat, sleep, or take a bath there, but we can move around and shop.
What Possibilities Persist In This Digital Realm?
When this virtual universe will officially arrive (just like we saw in Ready Player One), we will know its true potential. Although, several use cases are already on the table. Folks are allowed to interact, shop, receive training for jobs, purchase virtual lands etc. But as the concept has not gone mainstream, these use cases are only known by a handful of the world population.
Metaverse might not have become a mainstream concept, but it has already made a place in people’s hearts. From normal users to big guns, this notion is already pulling the rabbit out of the hat. We believe that the digital realm is going to allow most of the activities that we seek to do in the physical world.
