Gamers Are Willing To Spend Crypto in Metaverse
These are tough times for the crypto sphere. There’s no denying. But this backlash hasn’t affected the gamers. As per a survey organized by Globant, 34% of them are willing to spend crypto in the metaverse. This figure surpasses the number of metaverse non-believers. Crypto gaming has attracted gamers from all over the globe. And this survey has cemented the fact.
The survey was organized by YouGov and polled 1,000 gamers last month. One-third of them, as mentioned above, were willing to enter the digital realm to conduct transactions. Survey also revealed that 40% of the folks were interested in the concept of blending the earning aspect with gaming. 11% of the users showed theory interest in earning only.
Over half of the respondents showed their willingness to enter the virtual realm with a condition of getting paid in virtual assets for their work there. With respect to NFTs, 16% of the gamers said that they have acquired at least one token in the past. But it is uncertain whether those digital assets are associated with games or not.
People Think Metaverse Will Be a Game Changer
Over half of the population thinks that Metaverse is going to be a game changer in the video game industry. Another 41% believes that it will influence this space positively. Even though the 40% respondents belonged to this sector, only Meta made it as the most popular brand in the digital realm.
Some popular gamers have shown their dislike towards cryptocurrency and Non-Fungible tokens several times. That too regarding major organizations and brands declaring their collaborations in their products. They think that this technology influences the environment as well as the gaming experience negatively.
Recently, Mark Venturelli sniped the non-fungible tokens market in Brazil’s International Games Festival via a presentation dubbed “Why NFTs are a nightmare.” He thinks that this concept can ruin people’s experience who play games for fun only, as organized groups can overshadow them as they are here for profitability.
