In a private sale on Friday, a Champagne with five NFTs on the floor of the bottle with BAYC, Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC) and a Sneaky Vampire, was sold for US$2.5 million.As per the report of the Wall Avenue Journal (WSJ), Brothers Giovanni and Piero Buono are the owners of the champagne. This Champagne is also one of the world’s most costly champagne.
One of the brothers said that he believes it is a good investment, “I don’t drink it.” Brothers also believe this record setting booze liquor and NFT funding is quite secure. At the world’s largest NFT marketplace, OpenSea, the bottle is priced at 2500 ETH.
The Transaction was however done in US (dollars). Attributable to ongoing volatilities noticed within the cryptocurrency market. The NFT Bottle is called Magnum 2.5. Champagne Avenue Foch wine distributor minted the bottle. Meanwhile, BAYC artist Mig designed the bottle. Mig can be the creator of the Sneaky Vampire Syndicate NFT assortment.
Though NFTs are still associated with pixel art or avatars. But it seems to be changing now. The champagne is one example. Recently, a startup called Farandole announced its creating a business model to connect NFTs to wine investors. With it they hope to expose the industry to the unknown. Bringing the advantage of blockchain to a centuries-old business model.
CEO of Farandol, Maxim Hamonik shared that the platform is about selling NFTs associated with alcohol. However, it doesn’t limit itself to buying cases and bottles of wine and spirits. It aims to build a community. Its program membership involves wine and spirits and events.
