Luana Pinheiro, World’s First Female UFC Champion, will receive her almost total salary in BTC

  • Luana Pinheiro, a Brazilian Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Female Fighter, has allied with Bitwage, a premier payroll & HR service provider, to ascertain that she receives her salary in BTC from now onwards.

Luana Pinheiro is a UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) strawweight fighter and is ranked 14th globally in the female strawweight fighter category. 

According to the media reports, Luana Pinheiro has won approximately ten matches and has lost only one match so far; Pinheiro’s game winning streak is eight.

Luana Pinheiro has lately announced about his collaboration with Bitwage ( a premier cross-border payment application). Bitwage facilitates its users to convert a fiat currency into twenty-five different optional cryptocurrencies. 

While talking to the media, Luana Pinheiro mentioned that her boyfriend, Matheus Nicolau (Ranked 7 in Flyweight Category by Ultimate Fighting Championship), inspired her to adopt Bitcoin payment.   

As reported by reliable sources in March 2022, Matheus Nicolau ( a Latin American Player) was the first Ultimate Fighting Championship player to adopt all his payments from UFC in Bitcoin.

Luana Pinheiro mentioned in her statement that she was not worried about the falling prices of Bitcoin and the downtrend of the crypto market because she believes that the market’s volatility will end soon.

Luana Pinheiro supported her initiative of adopting Bitcoin Payments and stated that “Think about it: it takes an average of 10–15 years for an individual to obtain a black belt in Brazil in Jiu Jitsu, so my time preference here is just as long, if not longer. Everything else is just noise to me and the lower the price, the more Bitcoin I can secure for the future.”

Ultimate Fighting Championship(UFC) has signed a deal with its major sponsor Crypto.com and will launch Fan-voted Bonus in Bitcoin Cryptocurrency.

The number of cryptocurrency users is increasing rapidly globally, and now athletes in Latin America have taken the initiative of accepting their salaries in Bitcoin. Matheus Nicolau was the first Sportsperson listed in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. His girlfriend and famous female sportsperson Luana Pinheiro followed suit to announce once and for all that she is willing to accept her salary in Bitcoin.
