- Gucci has announced to accept payment in ApeCoin
- The payment will be supported by BitPay
Gucci, an Italian fashion brand, is now the first brand that is going to accept payments in ApeCoin, the Bored Ape Yatch Club-affiliated cryptocurrency.
On Monday, it was publicized that the company is going to accept the token and can give the Apecoin project with a major popular introduction in the company with, bringing further utility to the digital currency.
The customers of Gucci from the United States can now use APE to buy the items from the store. At the same time, the payment infrastructure will be given by BitPay, a company that helps big brands to accept digital payments.
In spite of the downfall in the crypto market, Gucci has taken a deep dive into the crypto market.
In February, the fashion brand knocked off the items with the “SUPER GUCCI” NFT stock in partnership with SUPERPLASTIC, a toy brand. The very next month, the company launched “Gucci Grail” NFT stock with an aim toward the holder of top NFT projects like BAYC.

NBATopShotEast the first person to pay in digital coin
In May, the company revealed its plan to accept 12 crypto assets as payment methods in 111 stores situated in North America. The 12 crypto asset included Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ether (ETH), Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC), Litecoin (LTC), Shiba Inu (SHIB), Dogecoin (DOGE), and many more.
The Bored Ape Yatch Club collector has shown enthusiastic support for the company’s crypto move until now.
In July, NBATopShotEast, a famous Twitter individual, claimed himself as the first person to pay in ETH for the items he bought from the Wooster Street store of Gucci in New York City. Two more people have claimed themself to be in second and third positions.
Regarding the announcement about the brand accepting APE, the famous Twitter personality NBATopShotEast revealed his plan to become the first person to use this token.
The ApeCoin and projects
In march 2022, APE was introduced in the market. Its coexisting DAO and governance group is very much busy and has commanded significant decisions like a rejection of a proposal stating the transfer of APE to a new blockchain from existing Ethereum.
