Metaverse is no more a gimmick, or at least it has proven itself as an effective concept. Almost every other tech company is either entering the virtual world or exploring ways to step into space. Many companies have run quite successful campaigns and achieved their goals to a significant extent. Still, there were a lot of issues that emerged while moving ahead towards their goals.

A number of problems including skepticism of potential recession, crypto market downturn, heavy lay off across the companies, etc. made it tough for companies to continue with their goals. However, it seems like none of them actually deviated companies from their path towards the metaverse

Tech giants like Meta, Apple, Microsoft, and Google only moved ahead even during a time full of uncertainties. Almost every other company reported making investments by different means from acquiring hardware to hiring more staff members. The efforts of these companies clearly indicated their bullishness for the ‘next big thing on the internet.

Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta, formerly known as Facebook, which rebranded itself some nine months ago shows the company’s strong vision toward the virtual world. The social media platform had purchased Oculus – a prominent VR headset company – in 2014 itself for 2 billion USD. Meta has developed the Quest headset and they are one of the top-selling high-end devices.

Apple also showed its keen interest in the virtual space and is prepared to ensure its presence. The company is also working on a mixed reality headset and reports are that their launch could take place as early as next year.

Search engine giant Google is also making notable efforts where it is working on its augmented reality (AR) glasses and headsets. This metaverse relevant Google products are to be available by 2024. Operating system conglomerate Microsoft also holds a notable lead where it created HoloLens. However, it is only limited for enterprise use for now but is anticipated to be available soon for general purposes.
