Ex Nintendo President Is Positive About The Metaverse
Reggie Fils-Aime, was the president of Nintendo, the organization behind our favorite Italian character Mario, is constantly promoting his book “Disrupting the Game.” He recently talked to a news website where he shared insights regarding accessibility and more. Primarily, he focused on giving the metaverse a chance.
He thinks that metaverse will contain a common development and currency framework. It is going to be highly social in the digital world, but enable real life experiences and interaction with others. This is how he defines the concept of metaverse and he really thinks highly of it.
Reggie’s perspective towards the metaverse is not very different from Zuck Bucks. He wants expansions and interoperability for metaverse games such as Fortnite and Roblox. Both the games are currently serving as a hybrid between social platforms and games.
He thinks that people overuse the term metaverse, comparing it to the era where people did the same with the term ‘internet’ due to scarce understanding. He also believes that organizations in the sector are required to become more open-minded about latest techs to capitalize it.
He didn’t just want to give a shot to the metaverse, but to NFT and blockchain technology too. Both the concepts have become controversial during the previous couple of years. He said that, ‘he believes in blockchain technology and its potential.’ He also thinks highly of non-fungible tokens. He wants these technologies to blend with game design.
Metaverse and NFT sectors are already attracting big names in their spaces. From retail to fashion brands, everyone is exploring the digital realms and its potential. Neal Stephenson coined the term metaverse in his novel initially back in 1992, depicting how virtual worlds should exist. Now, tech giants like Apple, Meta, Nvidia, Microsoft and more are working to make this dream come true in the near future.
