‘MoU’ of Huobi Global with The City of Busan
The second-largest city in S.Korea, Busan, continues its participation in the blockchain industry. It has officially signed an agreement with one of the leading crypto exchanges, Huobi that is also based in S.Korea.
Huobi Global and its Korean branch signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Busan Metropolitan City Government, on September 14, 2022.
As per the announcement on its official Twitter account, Huobi shared the information that this partnership will see the company provide research and development, technology, and financial support to the Busan digital currency exchange.
Junyong Choi, Huobi CEO, shared a statement that focuses on the company’s current business tie-ups with the Korean blockchain ecosystem participants. He also mentioned the expertise of the Huobi Research Institute and Huobi Academy as the key drivers of this partnership.
According to Choi, “We believe that Busan has strong attributes for fostering innovation and growth, and share their belief that blockchain technologies can transform and benefit traditional industries.”
On the other hand, Huobi further made a commitment to sponsor the Busan Blockchain Week at the end of October 2022 which is a part of the signed agreement.
Previous Partnership of Busan with Crypto Firm
It must be noted that in August 2022, the S.Korean Blockchain city, Busan, announced its partnership with FTX, a crypto trading platform, to foster the growth of the local blockchain industry. Also, in the same month, Busan signed a similar deal with Binance and got the technological and infrastructure support to develop the blockchain ecosystem in the city of Busan.
