  • The final helium transition result was announced, with 81.41% in favor of the transition.
  • After the completion of the transition, an updated version of the Helium wallet will be launched.
  •  Users can easily access the updated version of the wallet.
  • According to the data, 952k node operators are showing an interest in utilizing the new transition.

Helium was founded in 2019 as a decentralized wireless network that offers to connect people’s networks to earn cryptocurrency. Customers can connect directly to cryptocurrency using the Internet of Things (IoT) wireless network. Now the Helium network has gained popularity with up to 1 million Hotspots across the world. And now the developers of the platform are planning to make a new transition to Helium.

The reason behind the transition from its own blockchain network to Solana is to maintain the stability of the platform. Also to provide high speed and improve services for more users. So the developers started the transition process a long time ago.

For the last few months, the users of the platform have been facing issues with the reduction of Proof-of-Coverage activity due to the load on the blockchain and network size. There are huge complexities in managing purchasing data on the Helium platform. So the developers added two main goals to ensure the users.

  1. Reliable data transfer activity.
  2. Reliable for Proof-of-Coverage activity.

The voting started on September 12. The community members of the Internet of Things (IoT) voted in favor of a complete transition into Solana to maintain the stability of the platform. The transition allows users of the Helium token (HNT) to access the various wallets within the Solana platform, like Phantom or Solflare. The developers stated that the Helium Layer 1 blockchain will remain constant, so that it will make it easy for the users to access the new transition by updating the current wallet app.

As per the official report, “The proposal shows that there are changes in HIP70 but there will be no change in the basics of the Helium network. In addition to that, the changes help the HIP 70 network, including a huge availability of HNT to subDAO pools. And it provides a consistent mining facility, safe data transfer, and a stable ecosystem for the users.”
