Konami Enters The Metaverse Race

Throughout history, humans have evolved to become so intelligent that they have reached from Caves to Mars within a few thousand years. Now they are trying to create digital twins to develop a virtual world on the earth, the Metaverse. Majority of tech giants have joined this race to the digital mountain. Recently, one of the most admired video games companies globally, Konami, entered this arena.

The organization opened vacancies for certain positions required for Metaverse, Web3 and NFTs. According to the job posting, they are recruiting a team to contribute in their plan to develop an NFT marketplace. It shall allow gamers around the globe to use non-fungible tokens in game and generate IRL value with them.

Konami is among the organizations which made our childhood awesome with legendary franchises like Contra, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Pro Evolution Soccer (PES), Metal Gear and more, is planning to build an NFT marketplace. We don’t know any further information regarding the development yet, but how cool it would be to trade Michaelangelo and Casey Jones skins to generate a revenue stream through an NFT marketplace.

The organization revealed Castlevania — a media franchise by Konami — NFTs in January 2022 to celebrate the series’ 35th anniversary. Entire digital collection was sold soon after the launch. According to the reports, the company generated $162K from the sales and will garner 10% on every time the tokens are sold.

Tech Giants Are Busy Developing Digital Realms

This is a huge contribution for the metaverse as leading organizations around the world are either making use of or developing digital worlds. Top companies like Nike, Adidas, Balenciaga and more have already entered the arena. While tech giants like Nvidia, Apple, Microsoft, Meta and more are busy constructing virtual realms.

Most interesting example of this remains Nvidia’s Omniverse, a platform to develop metaverse apps. Developers can create anything they want to integrate in the virtual worlds. What’s more is that it provides softwares that allows them to construct photorealistic and physics-accurate objects for digital spaces. From movement of a leaf to leveling down of a structure (better than Battlefield Levolution) it captures everything.

In March 2022, Microsoft released a blog where the company offers some cornerstones to secure metaverse. They suggested that digital worlds will bring new threats with them. This time hackers will not phish you via an email, but by a virtual avatar standing in a digital bank structure asking for your personal information.

The company also said that people will experience multiple interoperable metaverses. Interoperability will play a vital role in the development of the ultimate “Multiverse.”
