Elon Musk Calls Out Apple Inc. In Growing Twitter Free Speech Saga

  • Apple spends more than $100 million on its advertisement on Twitter every year.  

Elon Musk, a centi billionaire, finalized a Twitter deal on October 27, 2022. Since the purchase day, Musk has continuously worked to change the rules and regulations of Social media platforms. 

The First Tweet Musk of the deal targeted any specific entity because it was mentioned in the tweet that the “Bird is Freed.”  

Later on, Musk addresses his Twitter advertisers in an open letter- “It is important to the future of civilization to have a common digital town square, where a wide range of beliefs can be debated healthily, without resorting to violence.”

It can be observed that users, advertisers and other associated Twitter business partners are not happy with Musk as he is continuously changing the social media platform’s policies. 

Elon Musk informed in his Twitter post that “Apple has also threatened to withhold Twitter from its App Store but won’t tell why.”

Musk and his followers believed that Apple was doing so because they did not support free speech. Moreover, it is not clear why Apple threatened Twitter and Musk.     

According to reliable reports, Apple is among the top advertisers on Twitter, spending more than $100 million per year on its advertising. However, Elon wrote in his tweet on Monday that “Apple has mostly stopped advertising on Twitter. Do they hate free speech in America?”     

In the other Twitter post, Musk asked, “Who else has Apple Censored?” In the same post, LBRY replied and noted, “During Covid, Apple demanded our apps filter some search terms from being returned. If we did not filter the terms, our apps would not be allowed in the store.”  

Musk also replied to the statement of LBRY and further asked them about the terms of the deal or agreement. LBRY shared some pictures and replied about the terms.  

The LBRY added, “We had to build a list of over 20 terms to not show results only on Apple devices. Apple also later rejected us because users included Pepe images in videos.” 

In his fresh tweet, Musk wrote, “Apple has also threatened to withhold Twitter from its App Store, but won’t tell us why? Watcher. Guru answered the question. In the same post, mention the facts.
