On March 1st, Chiliz, the global blockchain leader for web3 sports and entertainments. announced the launch of its $50 million incubator and accelerator programme Chiliz Labs. The programme is backed by Jump Crypto and will foster viable and innovative early-stage blockchain projects that are looking to leverage the new Chiliz blockchain.

According to Chiliz’s blog-post, “Chiliz Labs will invest, support, and empower early-stage blockchain projects that help to grow the web3 sports industry and deliver long term value to fans and sports brands. They call on developers, entrepreneurs, and communities looking to leverage the new Chiliz blockchain for sports and entertainment and the Socios(dot)com partner network.

The blog-post continued that they are building the sports and entertainment industry’s largest community of fans, brands, and innovative developers. And will deliver the network benefits of a dedicated sports web3 ecosystem.

Moreover, as part of its vision, Chiliz Labs is committed to building an ecosystem for entrepreneurs and developers focused on creating long-lasting, utility-oriented projects. It will soon announce its first partners.

The recent updates on Chiliz

Recently, Chiliz announced that LiveLike and FanFest were the first companies committed to building on the new chain. Meanwhile, it will publicly announce 8 to 10 additional enterprise level projects soon. “It will include NFT ticketing pilots, third-party athlete-focused Fan Tokens and Web3 infrastructure partners building for sports and entertainment,” Chiliz further added.

We will be continuing to work closely with Chiliz to bring our blockchain and crypto expertise to the Sports and entertainment industries, helping to deliver community events such as hackathons.”

Notably, Chiliz is the creator of Fan Tokens and the Socios(dot)com fan engagement and rewards app. While Fan Tokens are fungible, scalable utility tokens that allow sports teams to connect with and reward their global fanbases. And the Socios(dot)com Fan Token ecosystem and audience continues to grow with more than 170 partners across the globe and more than 1.8 million wallets.

Last year in August, Chiliz announced a $100 million investment in FC Barcelona’s digital content creation and distribution hub Barca Digital Entertainment to spearhead the club’s Web3 strategy.
